Rotating residential proxies

Buy traffic packages, install the gateway, and configure exit location and rotation mode

Rotating residential proxies are billed by traffic, and exit IPs come from online devices on real home broadband. After you install the gateway on a VPS, programs on that machine use residential IPs through local HTTP or SOCKS5 ports.

Traffic packages and expiry

  • Where to buy: Console → Rotating Residential Proxies → Buy Proxies. Plans and prices are on the product page.
  • All plans have the same features; only the traffic amount differs.
  • The 10 GB starter package is valid for 30 days from successful payment, and unused traffic is forfeited after that. Traffic in other plans does not expire.
  • When you hold several packages, valid traffic with the earliest expiry is used first. When a package expires, only its unused traffic is removed; other packages are unaffected. Expiry times are shown in Singapore time.
  • When traffic runs out, click Add traffic on the management page to buy more; the new traffic is added to your account.

Auto-purchase

Under Auto-purchase on the management page you can set:

  • Automatically buy the selected package when remaining traffic falls below a threshold (GB).
  • Auto-purchase on expiry: applies to short-term packages only, and buys once 24 hours before the last-expiring short-term package expires.

Charges are taken from the payment method you choose. After repeated failures, auto-purchase stops and the page shows a failure notice; check your payment method and turn it on again. See Top-up, payment & invoices and Renewal, expiry & refunds.

Rotating residential traffic packages are consumable and non-refundable once paid, regardless of whether you installed the gateway or used any traffic. See the IP Proxy Service Agreement and Renewal, expiry & refunds.

Install the gateway

The gateway can run on a Linux or Windows VPS from VoyraCloud or any other provider. You do not need to choose a VPS when you buy.

  1. Open Console → Rotating Residential Proxies → Gateway installation and click Install gateway.
  2. Choose Linux or Windows and click Copy command.
  3. Run the command on the target VPS. Linux requires root or sudo; on Windows, run it in PowerShell.
  4. When installation finishes, the device appears automatically under Connected devices.

The commands look like this, where INSTALL_TOKEN is the token shown in the console. Always copy the full command from the console.

Linux:

curl -fsSL https://get.voyracloud.com/voyra-agent/install-linux.sh | sudo bash -s -- --token INSTALL_TOKEN

Windows (PowerShell):

Invoke-WebRequest -UseBasicParsing -Uri 'https://get.voyracloud.com/voyra-agent/install-windows.ps1' -OutFile "$env:TEMP\install-voyra-agent.ps1"; powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File "$env:TEMP\install-voyra-agent.ps1" -Token 'INSTALL_TOKEN'

The install command contains your installation token. Keep it safe and do not share it.

Local ports

After the gateway is installed, use these addresses on that VPS:

ProtocolAddress
HTTP127.0.0.1:18080
SOCKS5127.0.0.1:18081

The ports listen on 127.0.0.1 and are only available to programs on that VPS. Check the exit:

# HTTP
curl -x http://127.0.0.1:18080 https://ipinfo.io/json

# SOCKS5
curl --proxy socks5h://127.0.0.1:18081 https://ipinfo.io/json

For more languages and tools, see Getting Started with Proxies.

Configure the exit

New devices default to Global random / Rotate on every request. To change it:

  1. Find the device under Connected devices and click Edit egress configuration.
  2. Select Country, State / province and City in turn. Any level you leave empty is assigned randomly within the wider area; changing the country clears state and city.
  3. Choose an IP rotation mode. Timed rotation requires an Interval.
  4. Click Save.

Available countries, states and cities change with the devices online in the IP pool; the console drop-downs are authoritative.

Rotation modes

ModeBehaviorGood for
Each requestEvery new connection gets a new residential IPWeb scraping, SERP queries, bulk checks
StickyKeeps the same exit IP until you change the configuration or the residential device goes offline; then switches to a new IP in the same areaMulti-step flows such as login, add-to-cart and form filling; browser automation
TimedKeeps the same IP and changes it when the interval elapses; set the interval in minutes or hours, for example 5 minutes or 1 hourContinuous monitoring, long-running tasks

Residential IPs come from real home devices that can go offline at any time, so sticky and timed modes keep the same IP on a best-effort basis. A specific IP is not guaranteed for any duration.

No reinstall needed for changes

The exit configuration is stored on the platform and takes effect the next time the gateway pulls its configuration; you do not need to rerun the install command. A successful save while the device is offline does not mean the exit has switched; verify with the commands above once the device is online.

Sharing a package across devices

  • Each traffic package has one installation token. Install with the same token on several VPSs and all devices share the traffic.
  • Each device can have its own exit and rotation mode.
  • Device management:
    • Edit device name: set a label that is easy to recognize.
    • Disable / Enable: the device stops or resumes using the package on its next heartbeat.
    • Remove device: a device that has not communicated with the platform for more than 3 days can be removed from the list; it reappears automatically if it reconnects.

Rotate the token

If you suspect the token has leaked, click Rotate token under Gateway installation. The old token becomes invalid immediately, and every device must be reinstalled or updated with the new command.
