Residential IP VPS

What "residential IP" means for this server, how to check it yourself, suitable and unsuitable uses, and how it differs from a static ISP proxy

A Residential IP VPS is a VPS whose own public IP is an ISP (internet service provider) address: the server reaches the internet directly from that IP, with no proxy to configure. Ordering, SSH or Remote Desktop connection, console operations and traffic billing are the same as for Linux server and Windows server.

What "residential IP" means here

  • ISP-assigned: the IP is assigned by an ISP; both the provider and the announcer of the IP are ISPs rather than a data center.
  • Static: the IP stays the same for the service period unless you change it in the console.
  • Dedicated: each IP is assigned to one server only.
  • Checked before delivery: each IP is tested for availability on major platforms before delivery.

Specs and images

  • Plans, available regions and prices are shown on the product page and the purchase page.
  • Linux images (Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS Stream, Rocky Linux) are available; some plans also offer Windows Server 2022 and application images. See the purchase page.
  • Minimum plans for application images differ from Linux servers. For example, Docker + Portainer, code-server, Gitea and Coolify need 2 vCPU / 4 GB memory (code-server, Gitea and Coolify also need 60 GB storage), and Playwright needs 2 vCPU / 4 GB memory / 60 GB storage. The purchase page warns you if your plan does not qualify.

Checking the IP yourself

Once you have the server, confirm its actual exit IP and then look up the IP type and carrier with an IP lookup tool.

  1. Get the exit IP on the server:
curl -4 https://ifconfig.me
  1. Open VoyraCloud IP Lookup, enter the IP from step 1, and check the IP type, carrier and location.

IP databases collect and update data differently, so they may classify the same IP differently. If the result does not meet your needs, act within 24 hours of purchase; see the refund rules at the end of this page.

Suitable and unsuitable uses

Suitable

  • Cross-border e-commerce store management, social media account operations and other work that needs to log in from the same fixed IP over time.
  • Live streaming.
  • Accessing websites, AI applications or streaming services that restrict data center IPs.
  • Running scripts, browsers or test environments on a server long-term where the exit must be residential.

Unsuitable

  • Uses that violate the Terms of Service, including phishing, spam, flooding, scanning within the network, or unauthorized access to other systems. These lead to immediate suspension or termination without refund.
  • Tasks that need frequently rotating exit IPs (such as large-scale data collection). The IP on a Residential IP VPS is fixed, and changing it is paid and random; such tasks fit better on a Linux server with a rotating residential proxy. See Getting Started with Proxies.
  • Workloads with short, heavy traffic bursts. A sudden burst may trigger the upstream carrier's risk controls and block the IP until support unblocks it.

Compared with a static ISP proxy

Residential IP VPSStatic ISP proxy
FormA complete VPS whose own public IP is an ISP addressA proxy address (SOCKS5 / HTTP) you configure on your device, browser or server
RuntimeIncludes CPU, memory, storage and root / administrator accessNo server included; you provide the runtime
UsageEvery program on the server uses the IP directlySet the proxy in apps or the system; a Linux server can route the whole instance through it with "Proxy configuration"
Best forA long-running server whose exit is a residential IPYou already have a computer or server and only need a fixed residential exit

If you already have a Linux server, you can buy a static ISP proxy and enable it under the instance's "Proxy configuration" so IPv4 outbound traffic reaches the internet through a residential IP. See Linux server outbound proxy configuration.

Changing the IP

A Residential IP VPS also supports "Change IP Address" on the detail page. The new IP is assigned at random from the available pool in the same region, the old IP is released immediately and cannot be recovered, and the fee is non-refundable. See the Linux server IPv4 change rules.

Refunds

Residential IP VPS follows the VPS refund rules: a full refund within 24 hours of purchase if less than 5 GB of data transfer has been used; otherwise a prorated refund based on the lower of the remaining time and remaining traffic in the billing period. A 10% fee is charged on every approved refund. See Renewal, expiry & refunds.
