Windows Servers
Windows server versions, Remote Desktop (RDP) connection steps, password rules and common connection problems
A Windows server is a KVM virtual server with Windows Server preinstalled, operated graphically over Remote Desktop (RDP). Ordering, console operations, traffic billing and IP change rules are the same as for Linux server; this page covers only what is specific to Windows.
System versions

- Windows images require a plan with at least 2 GB of memory.
- Plans and prices are shown on the product page and the purchase page.
- The system is a genuine Windows image provided by VoyraCloud. If you have questions about activation status, submit a technical ticket.
The "Proxy configuration" feature supports Linux instances only and is not available on Windows servers.
Getting login details
Open the instance detail page from User Center → Resources and check the basic information on the "Overview" tab:
- IP address: the Remote Desktop address.
- Username: usually Administrator; use what the detail page shows.
- Password: click the eye icon to reveal it and the copy icon to copy it.
The default Remote Desktop port is 3389.
Connecting from Windows
- Press
Win + R, typemstscand press Enter to open Remote Desktop Connection. - Enter the instance IP under "Computer". If you changed the port, enter
IP:port. - Click "Connect" and enter the username and password from the detail page.
- If a certificate warning appears, confirm the IP is correct and choose "Yes" to continue.
Connecting from macOS
- Install Microsoft's official Remote Desktop client, Windows App (formerly Microsoft Remote Desktop), from the Mac App Store.
- Open the client and click "+" → "Add PC".
- Enter the instance IP as the PC name, choose "Add User Account" and enter the username and password.
- Save, then double-click the PC to connect. If a certificate warning appears, choose "Continue".
WebVNC web console
While the instance is running, click "Login Console" on the detail page to open the Windows desktop through WebVNC in a new browser window, with no client to install. If your client cannot connect, use it to check whether the instance itself is working.
Resetting the password
Click the refresh icon next to the password on the detail page to set a new one. The reset restarts the instance (about 2 minutes) and the old password stops working. Password requirements:
- 8–32 characters.
- At least three of: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, digits, special characters.
- Must not contain any part of the username administrator longer than 2 consecutive characters, for example
adminorstr.
Common connection problems
Connection times out or the PC cannot be found
- Confirm the instance status is "Running".
- Confirm the IP matches the detail page; after changing the IP, use the new one.
- Confirm Remote Desktop is enabled in the instance and Windows Firewall allows port 3389 (or your custom port). If you changed these settings inside the system, log in through the web console to check.
- Latency on routes from mainland China to overseas regions can cause timeouts. Run MTR in both directions (from the instance to your local public IP, and from your computer to the instance IP) and submit screenshots in a technical ticket or send them to voyracloud@gmail.com.
Username or password is reported as incorrect
- Copy the password again from the detail page and make sure no extra spaces are included.
- If you just reset the password, wait for the instance to finish restarting before connecting.
The IP suddenly becomes unreachable
A sudden traffic burst may trigger the upstream carrier's risk controls. Submit a ticket or email voyracloud@gmail.com to request unblocking.
Refunds
Windows servers follow the VPS refund rules: a full refund within 24 hours of purchase if less than 5 GB of data transfer has been used; otherwise a prorated refund based on the lower of the remaining time and remaining traffic in the billing period. A 10% fee is charged on every approved refund. See Renewal, expiry & refunds.
